Ariz. Saves Millions Cutting Illegal Immigrant Perks

A U.S. border state that stopped giving illegal immigrants discounted public college tuition a few years ago reports saving millions of dollars after terminating the program that essentially subsidized illegal behavior with public money.
Fed up with the toll that illegal aliens were having on its state, Arizona voters overwhelmingly passed a law in late 2006 to deny them heavily discounted resident college tuition and other state-funded benefits draining the budget. Approved by more than 70% of voters, the measure also requires state agencies to verify the immigration status of applicants for public services such as child care and adult education as well as financial aide for college students.
Regardless, thousands of illegal aliens continue to annually apply for the costly perks which used to cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars each year. Since the law passed more than 3,400 community college students and nearly 300 university students paid the much higher nonresident tuition because they couldn't prove they were in the country legally.
This represented a savings of nearly $8 million for one of the state’s community college districts (Maricopa County Community College District) alone. Combined with Arizona’s other junior college districts and its three public universities the savings are estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars.
Arizona’s State Treasurer says the money is being appropriately used for programs that benefit legal residents rather than to subsidize the education of those who live in the state illegally. A handful of other states—including Texas, California, Utah, Maryland and Wisconsin—offer illegal immigrants discounted tuition at public colleges.
Earlier this month, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott ruled that allowing illegal immigrants to pay in-state tuition breaks federal law though the state annually grants the coveted benefit to thousands of undocumented students. The opinion was a no brainer considering that a 1996 immigration reform law forbids states from giving illegal aliens in-state tuition unless it provides the same for all students regardless of residency.
It was that law that led a group of out-of-state students to successfully challenge the practice in California. The students argued that California’s public university and community college system violated the law by charging them higher tuition and fees than undocumented immigrants. A state appellate court ruled in favor of the American students and the case is pending before the sate Supreme Court.

Taxpayers in the nation’s most populous county dished out nearly $50 million in a single month to cover only the welfare costs of illegal immigrants, representing a whopping $10 million increase over the same one-month period two years ago.
In June 2009 alone Los Angeles County spent $48 million ($26 million in food stamps and $22 million in welfare) to provide just two of numerous free public services to the children of illegal aliens, which will translate into an annual tab of nearly $600 million for the cash-strapped county.
The figure doesn’t even include the exorbitant cost of educating, medically treating or incarcerating illegal aliens in the sprawling county of about 10 million residents. Los Angeles County annually spends more than $1 billion for those combined services, including $400 million for healthcare and $350 million for public safety.
The recent single-month welfare figure was obtained from the county’s Department of Social Services and made public by a county supervisor (Michael Antonovich) who assures illegal immigration continues to have a “catastrophic impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers.” The veteran lawmaker points out that 24% of the county’s total allotment of welfare and food stamp benefits goes directly to the children of illegal aliens—known as anchor babies—born in the United States.
A former fifth-grade history teacher who has served on the county’s board for nearly three decades, Antonovich has repeatedly come under fire for publicizing statistics that confirm the devastation illegal immigration has had on the region. Antonovich represents a portion of the county that is roughly twice the size of Rhode Island and has about 2 million residents.
Numerous other reports have documented the enormous cost of illegal immigration on a national level. Just last year a renowned economist, who has thoroughly researched the impact of illegal immigration, published a book breaking down the country’s $346 billion annual cost to educate, jail, medically treat and incarcerate illegal aliens throughout the U.S.

Congressional study shows illegal immigrants sap tax dollars

A study by the U.S. Congressional Budget Office released Tuesday backs up the view that undocumented immigrants sap more tax dollars than they provide, especially in education, health care and law enforcement.
The study pulled together reports from the past five years, using data from sources including the Pew Hispanic Center, the Rand Corp., the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and various universities. The Congressional study also incorporated facts from states, including Arizona, but its authors acknowledged there was no aggregate estimate that could be applied to the entire country.
The report says that in 1990, 90 percent of undocumented immigrants primarily were in six states: California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Texas.
By 2004, undocumented immigrants had increased tenfold in other states, most notably Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee, according to statistics from the Pew Hispanic Center.
The report estimates there are 12 million undocumented immigrants nationwide. Of those, 60 percent are uninsured and 50 percent of the children are uninsured. Again using 2004 statistics from the Pew Hispanic Center the average income of undocumented immigrants was $27,400 while Americans earned $47,800. The difference puts undocumented immigrants in a lower tax bracket, thus reducing the amount of federal and state income taxes generated.
The study also showed that while undocumented workers represented just 5 percent of state and federal service costs, their tax revenue did not offset the amount spent by government. The authors of the study stated that, "the general consensus is that unauthorized immigrants impose a net cost on state and local budgets. However, no agreement exists as to the size of, or even the best way of measuring, that cost at a national level."
In education, which the study notes is the largest single expenditure in state and local budgets, multiple states reported 20 to 40 percent higher costs educating non-English speaking students, many of whom come from the homes of undocumented immigrant parents. Using New Mexico statistics from 2004 as a model, education spending on undocumented immigrants comprised $67 million of the state's $3 billion education budget.
The study estimates there are 53.3 million school-age children in the U.S., 2 million of whom are undocumented immigrants and another 3 million who are legal citizens, but whose parents are not.
Undocumented immigrants are more likely to access emergency rooms and urgent care facilities because most do not have health care, the study said. In Arizona and other border areas, states paid nearly $190 million in health care costs for undocumented immigrants in 2000, the study reported. The amount, which the study says likely has risen since then, represented one-quarter of all uncompensated health care costs in those states that year.
While the report found that undocumented immigrants are less likely to be incarcerated than American natives, it said states still bear a large cost for the legal process. Based on a report from the U.S./Mexico Border Counties Coalition from 2001, counties from the four states that border Mexico spent more than $108 million on law enforcement activities involving undocumented immigrants. San Diego County in California spent nearly half of that, with more than $50 million going into law enforcement activities involving undocumented immigrants.

NYC issued a statement saying that illegal immigrants, have rights to access our courts (wasting our tax money) and can seek civil damages against U.S. businesses.
We elect these politicians, put them in office and fund their lifestyle but the business of the American people are coming second to Mexico and illegal immigrants. Who has priority with the U.S. Government? Is it our country and Americans or is it illegal aliens, Mexicans, drug cartels and Mexico? With all of the problems that we are having, why is President Obama still humoring these one-track radical illegal alien enterprises, who are pushing this dumb amnesty agenda? 35% of the U.S. government's time is wasted on illegal aliens and Mexico's whining in their shameless attempt at using reverse psychology on these idiots in our government.
The Government is blaming gun shop owners for Mexican violence but how are these people coming here to buy guns in the first place? The U.S. places its inadequatecy as a legitimate government onto the American people, time and time again.
Why are illegal immigrants in the Appalachian Mountains, using banned and cancer causing toxic chemicals to harvest marijuana crops? This has been going on in in U.S. Forest for about a decade and the main stream media JUST decided to report on this story! Where is the outrage from environmental groups over Mexican drug cartels destroying American forest? Most importantly, where the hell is the U.S. Government to protect the American people from national, hostile terrorist threats coming from Mexico?
For American businesses, to buy into former President of Mexico, Vincent Fox, about Mexicans work better and harder flies in the face of logic and facts. Just look at what happened business in Ca. state!
I was sitting on an Amtrak in Ca., next to some widowed lady, who was popping pills and depressed that she had lost her families business and her husband had just died a year earlier. I asked her how she lost the business and she answered that 4 illegal immigrants sued her in labor disputes. I thought to myself "good for your dumb ass!"
One example- I had a kid from U.C.L.A. interning at a company that I worked with and he invited me to his father's home, in San Diego,Ca., for Christmas. This man was a labor attorney and lived in a dam near medieval French castle! He informed me that he has made over 20 million dollars in 5 years by showing illegal immigrants how to get hurt on the job and then he would represent them in court.
These frivolous settlements in Ca. state, are the main reason that business went belly-up. And it is there own dam fault! If you want to hire illegals and think that these people are isolated, lone workers and aren't aware of how to work the U.S. system-then these businesses are just unaware of the real world.
These people know how to come here and have 5 babies in 4 years, get on welfare, get hurt on the job and get paid! N.Y. is an arrogant state, that is 20 years behind in knowledge on illegal immigrants. Kinda like the idiots in Louisiana state. La Raza has been jumping for joy, now that they located the dumbest politicians in the U.S........Louisiana state! La Raza has even began to expand their cartel map to include lower S.W. La. state and cut bribes with La. officials, giving Mexican nationals purchase power on huge plots of land in Lower S.W. Louisiana.
Lou Dobbs, at CNN reported that a Mexican textile company has purchased land for a "plant" in lower Louisiana! This deal is all around fishy! The company is a Mexican based cotton clothing producer, and if the U.S. Government is outsourcing because labor is supposedly cheaper over seas, then what reason would Mexicans have to place a "plant" and buy land in Louisiana-if not to establish new drug and easier drug routes and usher in illegal immigrants? The border with Texas is very "hot" and law enforcement in Louisiana, lets face it, aren't really the most trained and qualified people when it comes to dealing with any form of immigrant crime!
Mexican Drug cartels, need to get into Atlanta and the the North East. They have NEVER even thought of playing around with Louisiana until Bush, Cheney, Katrina, La. Gov. Piyush "bobby" Jindal,La. Lt.Gov Mitch Landrieu and Jefferson Parish-started putting all of this illegal immigrant corruption into work within La. state. These people have almost single-handedly destroyed the entire sovereignty of La. state, in a matter of a few short years!
This Mexican owned factory in lower Louisiana, is saying that they will hire Americans from Louisiana state-BUT we all know that Americans will be hired for about 1 year, fired and then the entire area will see a flooding of Mexicans from Mexico and Texas. The one school in this S.W. La town will be strained with illegal immigrant kids and basically, Texas wants to unload their Mexican drug cartel problem onto Louisiana and our politicians are helping them achieve this in a very fast manner.
The land that a Mexican company has purchased in lower S.W. Louisiana was crafted by a coupe of these corrupt Louisiana politicians -and once we investigate and get some names, they will be published and these people will be out of a job. That is a promise! No one in Louisiana is going to stand for this! We have enough land being taken in this state by Big Oil and now these idiots have land being purchased by Mexico! I put in an email to Lou Dobbs to obtain more info. on who helped this company set up camp in La. state because the cover-ups by the local La. news papers and politicians is sickening! Our Media in La. state is criminally negligent in their reporting style.
I think that if an American business is dumb enough to hire an undocumented worker, that you know noting about-then the company should pay out millions to these illegals. I would love nothing more than to see illegal immigrants bankrupt every single shady American business, that hires them and then to return to Mexico a millionaire off of the stupidity of Americans.

This would leave people with the perception that illegal aliens have no way of receiving coverage under the House bill at all. That perception is wrong. The only thing that will prevent an illegal alien from receiving benefits under the House bill is to have the illegal alien decide to forego applying for those benefits. Dean Heller (R-NV) tried to include an eligibility verification process, using existing government databases, to screen applicants' eligibility for the public plan and the affordability credit. EL PASO -- José Daniel González was living the sweet life in America. He bought the $365,000 two-story Mediterranean with the tile roof and swimming pool. He started a trucking company, was raising a family. But on a Friday night in May, he was executed in his front yard -- eight shots, tight pattern, close range.
According to police detectives, González knew the man who ordered his killing. He also knew the man who stood on his lawn and watched him die. These things are often personal, especially among high-level drug traffickers.
A gangland-style slaying is no big news across the river in Ciudad Juarez, the bloodiest city in Mexico, where more than 1,300 people have been killed this year and only a handful of cases have been solved, despite the presence of 10,000 soldiers and federal police officers as part of President Felipe Calderón's war on drug cartels.
But in El Paso, where local leaders boast how safe their city is and the 12 homicides this year have almost all been solved, the González slaying was as disturbing as it was sensational. For people here, the blood splashed on a pretty American street was a jarring sign that Mexico's drug violence is spilling across the border into U.S. suburbia.
Most unsettling for many, especially El Paso police officials, was that both González and the man accused of ordering his killing turned out to be ranking drug traffickers from the notorious Juarez cartel, as well as informers for the U.S. government.
"So this is how these people end up in our country," said El Paso police Lt. Alfred Lowe, the lead homicide detective and a 29-year veteran whose team made the arrests in the González case. "We bring them here."
As a spectacular wave of drug violence washes over Mexico, the Obama administration, the U.S. Congress and leaders in the Southwest states are spending billions of dollars and massing thousands of agents to keep the chaos from crossing the border. But in order to fight the drug traffickers, federal anti-narcotics agents have brought Mexican cartel members north of the border, to use them to gather intelligence and build cases.
That has also led to friction between U.S. law enforcement agencies. El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen, who lives close to the González home and heard the shots the night of the slaying, said he has complained to federal counterparts about a lack of cooperation and information sharing. Allen told reporters that he raised those complaints in meetings with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, known as ICE, which, according to police and charging documents, arranged for González's visa so he could live in the United States.
Lowe said ICE agents were uncooperative during the investigation, misleading El Paso officers by failing to provide accurate names, photographs of suspects and timely intelligence that might have helped solve the homicide more quickly.
"We've never worked well with ICE," Lowe said.
ICE officials declined to comment on the specifics of the González case or the conduct and cooperation of their agents. "As a matter of policy, we don't confirm or deny confidential sources or sources of information," said Richard Rocha, spokesman for ICE in Washington. "All allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and, if reported, will be fully reviewed."
As the investigation into the González killing progressed this summer, police said they were further surprised to learn that the man charged with orchestrating the slaying was a fellow drug cartel member, a specialist in assassination -- and a federal informer for ICE living in El Paso.
Rubén RodrÃguez Dorado, a Mexican citizen, was detained this month and charged with murder in the González case. Before he was a suspect, police detectives said, they were introduced to RodrÃguez by ICE agents, who presented him as an informer who might be able to help on the case.
When he met with El Paso police, who said they were not given his name, RodrÃguez bragged that he was "the main man in El Paso" for the Juarez cartel. Detectives said they later learned that his specialty was arranging hits for hire. "He told us that he was high in the food chain and that he'd ask around and see what he could find and that he would let us know. Of course, he didn't let us know anything," Lowe said.
El Paso police arrested three American teenagers they said RodrÃguez recruited to his crew: U.S. Army Pfc. Michael Jackson Apodaca, 18, who allegedly pulled the trigger; Chris Duran, 17, who drove the getaway car, according to the court papers; and a 16-year-old who police said did surveillance for the gang. Apodaca and Duran were charged as adults with murder. The name of the youngest teenager is being withheld.
RodrÃguez's attorney did not respond to telephone messages. Attorneys for the teenagers could not be located.
Lowe said that during the investigation, ICE agents introduced local police to other federal informers. One man was a cartel assassin. "His role was very brutal in Juarez. But here he is, just another cooperating witness, and we thought, if this guy is living here, how many more of them are there? This man is a known threat," Lowe said. "We should be informed, not only for our safety but the safety of the community."
El Paso police said they have evidence that González continued to work with the cartel while he was a federal informer in El Paso. While RodrÃguez was cooperating with federal agents, he was arrested and charged in May with trying to steal an 18-wheeler filled with flat-screen televisions.
Law enforcement officials said El Paso is home to many cartel members and their families.
"Without a doubt, there are a lot of cartel members among us," said Robert Almonte, executive director of the Texas Narcotic Officers Association and a retired deputy chief of the El Paso police. "They've been here for a long time. They come for the same reasons as you or me. It's safer here. And if they have wives and kids, this is the place to be."
Joseph M. Arabit, special agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration's office here, said that El Paso serves as an important staging point for Mexican drug trafficking but that violence is rare north of the border because cartel members "don't want to face justice in the United States."
Ranchos del Sol, the east-side El Paso neighborhood where the cartel hit occurred, is invitingly neat. On each block are new stucco homes painted in sand and sunset colors inspired by the desert. From the top of Bob Hope Drive, Ciudad Juarez can be seen in the hazy distance.
A number of residents in the neighborhood declined to give their names for publication, saying they were nervous about becoming targets.
A grandmother inspected plants outside her daughter's home after picking up the mail. "I'm afraid that other people will be executed Juarez-style here in El Paso," she said.
Three blocks away, Veronica Ortiz was getting ready to go on a drive with her husband and small children. "It doesn't really affect us," she said about the killing on Pony Trail Place. "I don't think they go against innocent people."
Another neighbor, a father of two, said he rode his bike past the cul-de-sac the night of the hit, moments before police arrived. "I would be outraged to know if the federal government owned that house and put a snitch in my neighborhood," he said.
"We live in a city of don't ask, don't tell," said Tony Payan, a professor at the University of Texas at El Paso who studies the drug trade. "The city is filled with stash houses, money laundering, shipments. Trucks come. Trucks go. Garage doors open and close. But the perception and reality of safety must be maintained at all costs. Leaders are obsessed with our ranking as the second or third safest city in America."
Before González was shot dead in front of his house, he knew that he was in danger, police said. In May 2008, a leader of the Juarez cartel was arrested in Mexico. El Paso detectives said they read news accounts reporting that the tip had come from González. That kind of public disclosure is a potential death sentence in Juarez.
El Paso police said that González fled north sometime in 2008 and that ICE agents knew he was in trouble with the cartel.
According to police investigators, shortly before his death, González told his wife that if she ever heard from a man called El Dorado -- RodrÃguez's street name -- to warn him immediately, and that if anything happened to him, she was to call a telephone number he gave her. Police said the number was for his handler at ICE.

Most unsettling for many, especially El Paso police officials, was that both González and the man accused of ordering his killing turned out to be ranking drug traffickers from the notorious Juarez cartel, as well as informers for the U.S. government.
"So this is how these people end up in our country," said El Paso police Lt. Alfred Lowe, the lead homicide detective and a 29-year veteran whose team made the arrests in the González case. "We bring them here."
As a spectacular wave of drug violence washes over Mexico, the Obama administration, the U.S. Congress and leaders in the Southwest states are spending billions of dollars and massing thousands of agents to keep the chaos from crossing the border. But in order to fight the drug traffickers, federal anti-narcotics agents have brought Mexican cartel members north of the border, to use them to gather intelligence and build cases.
That has also led to friction between U.S. law enforcement agencies. El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen, who lives close to the González home and heard the shots the night of the slaying, said he has complained to federal counterparts about a lack of cooperation and information sharing. Allen told reporters that he raised those complaints in meetings with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, known as ICE, which, according to police and charging documents, arranged for González's visa so he could live in the United States.
Lowe said ICE agents were uncooperative during the investigation, misleading El Paso officers by failing to provide accurate names, photographs of suspects and timely intelligence that might have helped solve the homicide more quickly.
"We've never worked well with ICE," Lowe said.
ICE officials declined to comment on the specifics of the González case or the conduct and cooperation of their agents. "As a matter of policy, we don't confirm or deny confidential sources or sources of information," said Richard Rocha, spokesman for ICE in Washington. "All allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and, if reported, will be fully reviewed."
As the investigation into the González killing progressed this summer, police said they were further surprised to learn that the man charged with orchestrating the slaying was a fellow drug cartel member, a specialist in assassination -- and a federal informer for ICE living in El Paso.
Rubén RodrÃguez Dorado, a Mexican citizen, was detained this month and charged with murder in the González case. Before he was a suspect, police detectives said, they were introduced to RodrÃguez by ICE agents, who presented him as an informer who might be able to help on the case.
When he met with El Paso police, who said they were not given his name, RodrÃguez bragged that he was "the main man in El Paso" for the Juarez cartel. Detectives said they later learned that his specialty was arranging hits for hire. "He told us that he was high in the food chain and that he'd ask around and see what he could find and that he would let us know. Of course, he didn't let us know anything," Lowe said.
El Paso police arrested three American teenagers they said RodrÃguez recruited to his crew: U.S. Army Pfc. Michael Jackson Apodaca, 18, who allegedly pulled the trigger; Chris Duran, 17, who drove the getaway car, according to the court papers; and a 16-year-old who police said did surveillance for the gang. Apodaca and Duran were charged as adults with murder. The name of the youngest teenager is being withheld.
RodrÃguez's attorney did not respond to telephone messages. Attorneys for the teenagers could not be located.
Lowe said that during the investigation, ICE agents introduced local police to other federal informers. One man was a cartel assassin. "His role was very brutal in Juarez. But here he is, just another cooperating witness, and we thought, if this guy is living here, how many more of them are there? This man is a known threat," Lowe said. "We should be informed, not only for our safety but the safety of the community."
El Paso police said they have evidence that González continued to work with the cartel while he was a federal informer in El Paso. While RodrÃguez was cooperating with federal agents, he was arrested and charged in May with trying to steal an 18-wheeler filled with flat-screen televisions.
Law enforcement officials said El Paso is home to many cartel members and their families.
"Without a doubt, there are a lot of cartel members among us," said Robert Almonte, executive director of the Texas Narcotic Officers Association and a retired deputy chief of the El Paso police. "They've been here for a long time. They come for the same reasons as you or me. It's safer here. And if they have wives and kids, this is the place to be."
Joseph M. Arabit, special agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration's office here, said that El Paso serves as an important staging point for Mexican drug trafficking but that violence is rare north of the border because cartel members "don't want to face justice in the United States."
Ranchos del Sol, the east-side El Paso neighborhood where the cartel hit occurred, is invitingly neat. On each block are new stucco homes painted in sand and sunset colors inspired by the desert. From the top of Bob Hope Drive, Ciudad Juarez can be seen in the hazy distance.
A number of residents in the neighborhood declined to give their names for publication, saying they were nervous about becoming targets.
A grandmother inspected plants outside her daughter's home after picking up the mail. "I'm afraid that other people will be executed Juarez-style here in El Paso," she said.
Three blocks away, Veronica Ortiz was getting ready to go on a drive with her husband and small children. "It doesn't really affect us," she said about the killing on Pony Trail Place. "I don't think they go against innocent people."
Another neighbor, a father of two, said he rode his bike past the cul-de-sac the night of the hit, moments before police arrived. "I would be outraged to know if the federal government owned that house and put a snitch in my neighborhood," he said.
"We live in a city of don't ask, don't tell," said Tony Payan, a professor at the University of Texas at El Paso who studies the drug trade. "The city is filled with stash houses, money laundering, shipments. Trucks come. Trucks go. Garage doors open and close. But the perception and reality of safety must be maintained at all costs. Leaders are obsessed with our ranking as the second or third safest city in America."
Before González was shot dead in front of his house, he knew that he was in danger, police said. In May 2008, a leader of the Juarez cartel was arrested in Mexico. El Paso detectives said they read news accounts reporting that the tip had come from González. That kind of public disclosure is a potential death sentence in Juarez.
El Paso police said that González fled north sometime in 2008 and that ICE agents knew he was in trouble with the cartel.
According to police investigators, shortly before his death, González told his wife that if she ever heard from a man called El Dorado -- RodrÃguez's street name -- to warn him immediately, and that if anything happened to him, she was to call a telephone number he gave her. Police said the number was for his handler at ICE.

A once revered civil rights group named the Southern Poverty Law Center has now become a threat to the freedoms and security of American citizens due to their repeated attacks on all First Amendment rights and their utter debasement of the political process.
Due to the severity of the consequences of the SPLC's actions on our nation, their well funded and organized repeated attacks on American freedoms of speech, the press, the right to peaceably assemble, and petition the government for a redress of grievances, let us as Americans of every race and creed unify in our calls for the dissolution and complete political destruction of the Southern Poverty Law Center...
While in the past the SPLC has targeted "hate groups" or groups deemed racist and potentially violent, such as the KKK and Neo Nazi groups, the SPLC has recently used their reputation for righting these groups to go after moderate and mainstream Americans, journalists, and show hosts and anchors in an attempt to suppress free speech.
The most recent attack from the SPLC on American freedoms has come in the public call for the firing of Lou Dobbs by SPLC President Richard Cohen.
Cohen asserts that Mr. Lou Dobbs is fueling hatred and inciting people to violence because he discusses issues such as illegal immigration and open borders on his show. The most recent call for Lou Dobbs to be fired was in response to Dobbs making the following statement on his radio show regarding the birth certificate and Constitutional eligibility of President Barrack Obama.
The SPLC and groups like Moveon(dot)org are scrambling to defend Barrack Obama when his approval numbers are diving with Rasmussen Reports showing Obama's core ratings falling to negative 12 today!
Lou Dobbs did not take a position on President Obama's Constitutional eligibility to serve as President as a natural born citizens. Lou Dobbs simply said "President Obama needs to "produce a birth certificate".
American citizens of all walks of life are regularly made to provide a copy of their original birth certificate for jobs, licenses, passports, and other documents. Therefore, it is completely reasonable that President Barrack Hussein Obama should do the same to quell the large cohort of citizens that have serious questions about his eligibility to serve in an arena where there should be no doubts!
God forbid that the Southern Poverty Law Center's call for free speech and freedom of the press to be destroyed in one fell swoop succeed, but is not even their call for the destruction of these rights offense enough?
Surely there will be some far left open borders and amnesty enthusiasts, that represent less than twenty percent of the US Population on the political issues of illegal immigration, that will support the SPLC call for the firing of Dobbs because they feel they will benefit from this abridgment of Constitutional rights in America.
However, Lou Dobbs's political views are more closely aligned with the vast majority of Americans who want America's borders secured and our existing immigration laws enforced. An even larger majority of people will support Dobbs's right to say what he likes and report what he likes as an American citizen and member of the media. Thankfully, many Americans still realize that free speech is a sacrosanct pillar of our nation's political processes and once esteemed place in history.
Today, SPLC President Richard Cohen sent out another release claiming that Lou Dobbs has some association with James von Brunn, the neo-Nazi accused of killing the Holocaust Memorial Museum guard.
This is outlandish, ridiculous, and absolutely hurtful to our Republic when you consider the fact that the SPLC and its sister organization the Anti Defamation League (ADL) have both been involved with documents sent out by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the DHS Fusion Center in Missouri that warn police to distrust American citizens based on their political beliefs, favorite books and movies, Presidential candidate choice, or bumper stickers.

The SPLC and ADL attempts to politicize American police in a way not seen in history since the reign of Stalin or Hitler are threats to our Republic, our nation, and the the freedoms and security of all American citizens. That is why ALIPAC sent out a national advisory warning Americans about these groups earlier this year!
Now things have taken a new turn with the SPLC asking even their left leaning supporters to come along with them on a direct attack on free speech and the freedom of the press in America in a move that is designed to try and limit the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Most of us could understand and tolerate these groups and their spokespersons having different political views than us. I even fully support their free speech and right to engage in unpopular free speech supporting their positions in support for open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens.
But by targeting moderate groups and commentators, smearing their names with false associations with murderous racists, and attempting to simultaneously interfere with Constitutionally protected freedoms of Americans, the SPLC has gone too far and has become a threat to the American rules, principles, ideals and freedoms necessary to allow peaceful political change and diffuse calls for violence from the extremes.
I personally feel that the actions of the SPLC are increasing the chances of political violence in America as this group is trying to silence free expression of concerns and redress of grievances of tens of millions of Americans. The Americans the SPLC is targeting are not some violent fringe group, they are heartland Americans of every race and political party that believe in the founding principles of the United States!
Since the SPLC is actively involved in state and Federal legislation to reinforce their anti-American agenda, and since the SPLC has been identified in the effort to turn American police into political police, and since the SPLC is now fully on record calling for the firing of one of America's most respected and revered news show hosts on CNN, let us therefore resolve to seek the political removal of the SPLC from the media and political processes they seek to control.
We do not advocate anyone lift a finger in anger against them, but to engage in the process that we support and use the freedoms we still have for their intended purpose. The pen and the computer keyboard is mightier than the sword and is the apt response to this threat. The truth and a majority of Americans are on our side and all we need to do is channel that power down on the heads of those responsible for these outrages at the SPLC.
Let us speak out with one voice against the SPLC and challenge the presence and messages of their spokespeople such as Richard Cohen, Morris Dees, Mark Potok, Heidi Beirich, and others when they are masquerading as a civil rights group before the media and lawmakers.

It is time for someone to launch an education campaign to counter what the SPLC is trying to do to our nation and to people like Lou Dobbs.
The SPLC is dead wrong on what they are trying to do and how they are going about it and we cannot sit idle as they move to destroy the last vestiges of freedom in America when so many of our brethren and forebears have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect those freedoms for us all.
